They have a funny laugh
The insane.
Listen, said Hank,

You can hear her again
That dame upstairs
She with the butt

Like a hippopotamus
And a face like
Beethoven's death mask.

Sometimes,
If you listen close,
You can hear her

Making love
To the orangatang guy
From across town

Who crosses me
On the stairs some nights
With that look

Of the damned
In his eyes
And in his

Bass voice
You can hear
The vibrations

Of his dark soul
As he calls to her
Looking up

As she blows him kisses
Like black crows
Into the night sky.
