She’d not have him touch
Her again, not allow that,
And her telling him no,
Pushing him away, but
He was too strong, and

Had his way despite all
The effort of pushing and
Words. She wanted to wash
Him off her skin, scrub away
The finger touches, let the

Ablutions allow some kind
Of release of guilt and deep
Down dirtiness that despite
Everything she still felt, still
Sensed. Come on, Molly, he’d

Said, you know you want to,
You’ve been asking for it all
Along, I’ve seen it your eyes.
Damn his eyes, she muttered,
Feeling the sponge on her neck,

The water, hot, but not really
Cleansing, not getting the feck
Of a man off her flesh, his hands,
His sweat and his juices. Daddy
Would have broken him had he

Known; snapped his neck, broken
His jaw. She knelt in the water,
Pushed the sponge tight against
The skin, push him out, she said,
Off the tainted skin, out of the
Dark rooms of her wounded head.
