just a short poem for my humanities, written to a friend

I have a secret.
A confession.
When I was fourteen,
I lied.

Green-
was never my favorite color.
It was blue,
the color of your eyes.

But when those eyes lit up,
and you exclaimed that you loved green,
I said that I did too.
And you said you knew it.

I saw the different colrs then.
The light greens and darks. The neons.
The colors of the trees and grasses,
the colors of your shirts.

And suddely I loved green too.
And to this day I say I love green,
but now it's not a lie.

I love the first eleven lines. It really feels like you're confiding in me this "little-green-lie" (tongue in cheek) you told as a child. Good job.

You begin to really bring us on a journey but it kind of fizzles out at the end. Overall good work.
