Waves Of Despair

Here I stand
Upon the edge of the shore
Clam oceans spread before me
An eternal sunset
That lasts throughout time
Still with each passing day
It falls a little more
Much as the fire in my heart

Great plains lay behind
With the moon rising
And shadow falling
With life ceasing to end
As the light fades away

Two paths lay before me
To stay at the shore
And linger on
Till the dim light of the moon approaches
And begins to consume me
For an eternity
And allow my fire to be extinguished

Reach out to the sun
Reach out to my flame
With my final breath
To rekindle the hope
And reignite the fire that once thrived within

I have shod upon the shores of choice
From the time that creation began
Now, time is against me
Do I turn to the shadow and fall into darkness
Do I stand and fight till my dying breath against the waves
Or will I finally act, and let love take over
To catch the falling sun
Before the fire is lost forever
And you finally set out of my life
And never rise again
