There's a piece hanging around your neck

And a piece hiding in your bureau drawer.

There's a piece by the railroad tracks

They are pieces of me, scattered on the floor.

I can't be put back together

I can't be fixed with glue

I can't be fixed with duct tape

and I can't be fixed by you

I'd like to know what's going on

Because I am confused

and I think that you are too

But don't you try to fix me

because I can't be put back together

I can't be fixed with glue

I can't be fixed with duct tape

and I can't be fixed by you.

There are pieces of me in your hands

and pieces of me in your heart.

Pieces of me, and, I bet, pieces of you

That for some reason makes it hard to part.

You put me back together

but you didn't use glue

you didn't use duct tape

you just used me and you

Now I'm put together

the pieces of me and you

are pieces of one another

Stitched together with I love you

We were put back together

but I didn't know what to do

You aren't a piece of duct tape

and I didn't want to use, lose, you.
