"Something They Lack"

Do you realize when you die

That many cry for you, yet you know not why

You want to see their smiles light up your heart

But instead, it's painful as if being hit by a dart

They begin spreading rumors at school

As if mocking that you pretended to be cool

But they just need to know they lack

Someone who will no longer have their back

Even if they're sorry, nothing will chance

They'll still be enemies in hunting range

They pretend they're perfect but not even close

Their hearts will be aching knowing that they miss you the most

Too bad life can be short, for others it's long

They attempt to be good but tempting is strong

The years will run in fast

And all your loved will die first

Dying isn't something great

I'm not saying it isn't part of fate

Because it means letting every damn thing go

Just so you can be as free as how a current flows
