Sweet Sleep
By Danette M. Scott

Sweet sleep save my soul.
Peaceful dreams the night brings
Temples of stone, spirit to cajole
Wispy white clouds where my angel sings

Oh, sweet sleep I surrender to you
Bring serenity back to me
I am long overdue
In your arms I long to be

My soul suffers without sweet sleep
The spirit is saddened, my heart sinks
Where do you keep?
From there only my soul drinks

Quench my thirst
Save my sanity
Without you I'm cursed
My life filled with calamity

Save me sweet sleep!
I need to visit you again
In the night my dreams seep
Clear visions once again
