Ever long I have waited for the one who saved me.
At the edge of a precipice, my breath clenched in my chest.
I have longed.
Where has he been?
The antagonist of my every pain and my every pleasure.
He leaves me haunted and wanting.
From the fire he brought me once,
from the darkness I wish he would bring me now.
I am consumed.
I hunger.
His illusive shadow bears down,
until my back is pressed against the earth,
my eyes are to the heavens,
and his breath is against my flesh.
His hand is tangled in my hair.
He is my everything.
He is all that I need.
He is my completion.
He is the balm to my heart's wounds,
He is the antidote of his own poison.
My lips call out for him unceasingly,
but the sound echoes empty.
Hollow.
I am alone.
I am lost.
His hand and breath are no more
and I shut my eyes to those most painful heavens.
The earth draws me in to its darkness.
It draws me in to the deep silence that resounds in my heart.
I am lost.
How will he ever find me?
