This is actually called 'Cross my heart' but the name was taken. I wrote this about having feelings for someone who lives far away.

Cross My Heart

As night takes my thoughts for rest, I hold your promise in my chest.

Eyes wide open I cross my heart, Cross my fingers too.

Hoping each dusk and dawn brings me closer to you.

The feeling.. Is something different. I sink in to your eyes,

like quicksand or the mud left over from stormy skies.

Oh, such a dream as your laugh, sweeps from under me.

For ever falling, we are falling for the world to see.

My eyes they search for you, for the return of your smile.

Our aching love has been lost for too long a while.

How bitter sweet the melody of your beating heart,

Bitter in it's cage, but oh so sweet in it's careful depart.

And ever shall I speak of a lonesome girl,

Who jumbled my thoughts and gave my stomach a swirl.

Capturing me in such pleasant surprise,

With words of love where even happiness cries.

I cross my heart, Cross my fingers too.

My heart shall ever ache, always for you.
