Entropic Life

I am the phoenix arising from the ashes
I am the crumbling of a dead woman’s lashes
I am the seed, bursting free from the soil
I am the loosening of a python’s coils

I am the waterfall crashing downwards
I am the salmon, struggling upwards
I am the rose that withers and dies
I am the nestling eager to fly

I am the spark about to strike
I am the flood swelling behind the dyke
I am the blaze burning down and low
I am the mighty torrent ceasing its flow

Light’s pale luminance falters and fails
Shadow’s dark vortex gathers and wax
Then its stranglehold wanes, ever so frail
As flares of brilliance rebuild what lacks

I am Death
I am Life
I am Breath
I am Strife

I am All
I am None
I will fall
Though not yet done

I am Black

I am White

I am Grey

I am Right

I am,

I am.

I am…
