Chapter one
Sunny beaches
Sunny beaches and turqoise seas, well I could only dream of that. The barren wasteland of toxic scraps and infertile crops was where I lived. bare mud huts topped with only palm leaves as thin and dry as ever. each and every tiny household had a small cloud of steam lingering above it's green leaves. In the boiling mid day most people would be cooking mouldy scraps in their rusty metal pans above boiling fires. My country, a post apocolyptic wasteland, believe it or not this was Britan. It was about 5670 and around 2000 years ago as my late ancestors described it the greed of billonares and the the hole in the o-zone layer grew while the people faith in the world shrank, resulting in the explosion of a black volcano leaving lands all over the world covered in ash. Apparently it was like a giant pompeii (from what i've heard in history books) and now i guess we are all poor and suffering, I have lived like this the whole 14 years of my life and I honestly would love to know of the (apparent) world of shining lights and fast food before me, but according to my mother (she reads alot) we have moved back into the dark ages. you see before the bright lights and fast food it was just like this age (apart from the ash clouds and cremated bodies we still find to this day)

A very promising start. Not sure I like the centered text though. It makes it hard to find paragraphs.
