Anastasia (Staci) life is far from perfect. Her mother couldn't care less about her and what she does and her step-father is a complete loser. Spending all their extra money on his daily beers and getting into drunking rages.

So when they plan to go on a cruise without her, Staci is relieved, planning to spend those five weeks that they're gone in peace and quiet. But her mother refuses to leave her at home, even though she is seventeen and perfectly capable to take care of herself, and ships her to live with a Grandmother she's never met in Mossyrock, Washington.

Staci expects those weeks to be terrible, but it seems as soon as she arrives in Washington everything's on the turn for the better. She befriends a girl called Kara, a close friend of her Grandmother and a guy called Blake, whose both handsome and charming.

But not everything is right in Mossyrock. Staci's dreams seemed to be haunted and it seems that everywhere she goes, she sees a black, human-like form following her.

When she asks her Grandmother about it, she doesn't hold back, telling Staci that she had a twin sister (Mandy) who was murdered last year on the day of the summer solstice.

Staci knows instantly that Mandy is trying to warn her, but what about? And as the summer solstice draws nearer once again, Staci races to discover the truth, but the question is, will she find the truth? Or will she, like her twin, die on the day of the solstice?
