Part one of an love story that has happened to me in the last year. This part, trust me, is only the beggining. Please read

I loved him from the very beginning, as he bent down to pick up his bag. He stared into my eyes. My heart began to beat violently, and I blushed furiously.
"Whats that smile for?" Sarah questioned.
"Oh, nothing!"
Each day was the same. He'd look at me, I'd smile, look away and hope he hadnt noticed the effect he had on me. But i'd always convince myself that he didnt care enough to notice that I began to tremble when he merely glanced at me.
I continued suffering, you could say, for a year. Until one night, while I was busy telling myself that I didnt have a hope with him, I realised I could never be with him unless I tried to make him mine. I stared at my phone. It seemed to be begging me to pick it up and dial in the numbers that would allow me to hear his sweet voice.
Slowly, I typed in the numbers and I listened to the gentle purring as I waited for him to answer. When he finally did, I went numb.
"Eh....Hello" I said softly
"Hello? Who's this?" he replied. I stammered out who I was. He simply said
"Oh" I knew he wasnt impressed. I decided that I had to take a chance and hoped for the best. So, closing my eyes, and clenching my fist, I began to speak. I told him everything, how he seemed to have me under a spell, how he made me weak when he walked by. He listened attentively. When I had finished speaking, he laughed.
"Wow, you've certainly been doing some soul searching haven't you?" he teased.
"Yes" I giggled in response.
We spent two joyful months flirting, laughing and just relaxing together.
One day, we strolled along the riverbank, he said,
"What would you say if I asked you to be my girlfriend right now?"
I laughed, assuming that he was joking.
"Oh I'd say yes!!"
"Really? You'll be my girlfriend??"
I smiled at him. He held me in his arms. We kissed, blissfully unaware of what lay ahead. . . .

Generally, I don't read the novels or short-stories of others. Just their poetry. Don't know why. Liked your's, however. A lot.

Most interesting. I have to say, however, when 2 young lovers begin their time together "blissfully unaware of what lay ahead...", this portends: "Their bliss will be short lived as they will soon embark on a long journey of sadness and disappointment.". We'll see!

And, anyhow, why the telephone call? Doesn't anyone write to another anymore? Words to live by: "Wrong no man! Write no woman!". Hereby, breaking the rule.

I guess I'm asking you to post some poetry. Soon!

Happy trails,

Ed Bradley.
