through the valley of death

walks a soldier

fallin over his fallen comrades

as he takes each ones dog tags.

he looks back

sees his friends

lifeless and still

he still remembers something

those times during training

those times during war

when everything seemed so tough

they stayed together through it all

he took the dog tags

kept them by his chest

he woke up

to a loud ringing

next he felt a sharp pain by his chest

a bullet had struck him

but his tags saved him

he remembered him and his fellow comrades

stay together

die together

and his tags

brought them all together
