Sitting by the phone

Waiting for your call

To hear if you flew or if you fell

But anything right now would be just swell

Waiting, waiting thru the night

You can't imagine all the fear or the fright

I can't see it any other way

But you couldn't see this side of me

Because the person you chose to be

If it rang to that clatter

Would it, could it, even matter

What to be, what to see

It could never be
