“Stuck Landing”

There is a man upon a star.

Beyond the moon.

One who stands light years away.

Beyond the reach of time, in space.

Where past failures and mistakes continuously dwell and loom.

He has no roots, no foundation to tether is soul.

No people, nor nation.

Having never been earth-bound,

His heart beats but a small sound, so faint and cold.

While worlds away in a similar dark place,

There is a woman going under.

Crashing below waves of emotion.

Broken by self-inflicted wounds that make her cry, that make her snap!

One who falls down the trap.

Buried alive in self-loathing and pride.

Suffocating…

But in a moment of rare sight.

In the blink of an eye.

Did the moon, and planets that stretch so far.

Align, with one chance for her to shoot for the moon.

And if overshot and missed, land among a star.
