This was my late wife's Diane Hendrickson Dottle's favorite poem. She also had a favorite little melody I played on the guitar after her passing I put the two together.

What upon this precious earth

is there left of any worth?

Worth to those who live upon

this earth who's better days have gone?

Gone the way of many men

uncertain as to where they've been.

Uncertain as to who's concern

it is to see the forests burn.

The blessed breath of mother earth

retains the seeds of virgin birth.

Immaculate in all conception

striving endless for perfection.

The burning of the forests green

has caused the earth itself to lean

with faith upon the whims of man!
