James shook his head as he looked down, his eyes focused on camera 11. He watched, slightly amused as a girl sat in a room all bathed in white. Her name was Alyssa, which was all he knew about the mysterious girl that wandered into the Utah State Hospital about three months ago. She was bloody and alone, mumbling something about the voices in her head that had told her to do a horrible deed: murder her whole family. Once the cops had been called, James, who had originally found her, was told that Alyssa’s story was true; all 3 members of her family were found murdered, and mutilated at that.

He continued to watch Alyssa rock back and forth in the corner of the room, her nails constantly digging at her own face until she bled, always complaining about the voices that whispered bad things to her at night. He watched as she stood up, her body contorting into an impossible shape, no way she could be doing this without her bones snapping. James hit the red button, sending out a deafening alarm to alert the hospital that something was wrong. Nurses and doctors left whatever they were doing to put the building on lock down as a voice came over the intercom, “Room 11, all available report to room 11.”

James quickly made his way down from the security room and into room 11 where Alyssa laid, her arms reached behind her back, twisted and bent in the oddest ways. He brought his hands up to brush through his hair as he looked down at the 15 year old girl who’s short, spiky, blonde hair was caked to her face by dried up blood. James waved his arms at the other helpers who had all gathered in room 11, ushering them out into the hall so he could close and lock the door, leaving only him and Alyssa in the room.

Alyssa tried to scream, her mouth opened but no words came out. She felt it, she was being pulled further into the darkness that had already consumed her heart and her soul, and it would soon take over her body. She felt her hands clawing at her own face, causing beads of black fluid to seep through her skin and run down her cheeks, onto the floor. Wondering why no one was helping her, she came to the realization that she had no idea where she was. The darkness clouded over her mind, not taking full control but taking enough that it cut off all of her senses. Alyssa was trapped in a deep void, trapped in her own mind, and she had no idea how to get out.
