The pain of opinions

Just a quick poem on how people's opinions have changed me, and how I wish I was strong enough to not let them get to me. Enjoy!

To not let yourself
Be placed on a labelled shelf
Shows that you have the backbone
To not easily be overthrown

To us our peers opinions matter
Which causes us to unwillingly shatter
Like glass into small shards
Like the collapse of a house of cards

Our own personalities become deformed
Unlikely to ever be reformed
We become something we're not
Easily, we can lose the plot

To not let others opinions count
Makes you as a human paramount
As you are left whole and strong
Having a mind with nothing wrong
