This is a sorry story about helping a friend who self harms
** I do not self harm or support self harm **
Please don't read if it will make you sad :(

A happy person, you would think,
But because of depression, her knife will sink.
Bracelets and sleeves do not cover,
The cuts on her arms, one place or another.
I have tried talking, drawing and writing,
But nothing can resolve her reasons for harming.
She knows suicide isn't the answer
But she thinks there's no choice but to surrender
My tears, her tears,
Remembering those happy years.
Where have they gone? I ask again,
She only cries harder as she shatters her pen.
When they should comments and stab at her back,
Her skin gets worse, with her blade does she hack.
Don't they realise what harm they are doing?
When they drain her or confidence she's already lacking.
Sick, it makes me sick, to see her this way,
To see her face drain and her body sway.
I take her hand and look into her eyes,
But she falls down, and I say my goodbyes...
