You can associate this poem to your life how you please.
I made this about a personal struggle I suffer from, diabetes.
I understand there are many diseases in our world.
So it can be about whatever you wish!
I hope that you find this helpful and/or enjoyable.

I can't stop this,

It won't go away,

Not even for a holiday,

Everyday is a battle,

Even if I win,

I haven't won the war.

It will always have the higher score.

It's not a joke.

Not a funny game.

If it were your problem,

You'd feel the same.

I can not run,

I can not hide,

I can't forget what I feel inside.

The feeling of helplesness,

All of my pitty and shame.

If it were your disease,

You'd feel the same.

My father is diabetic who gets fatigued easily because of it, and I am likely to get it anytime in the future (I hope not). Your descriptions of how it feels seem accurate from what I have observed from my dad. Diseases like this are like a ticking clock about to stop, it can be scary.
