I think today I’ll stay in bed,

To rinse this booze out of my head,

The blinds are open, daylight burns,

I’ll close my eyes so dark returns;

I close the door to my four walls,

I only leave for toilet crawls,

To cleanse by spitting out last night,

A jar too many but I’m alright;

Room is spinning, got no feet,

But with my eyes closed I’m complete,

Can’t lift my eyes from off the floor,

I guess I better drink some more;

Drown in water to flush it out,

I wish I’d never ventured out,

The scent of food that turns me sick,

Head is throbbing, clock goes tick;

The song that’s playing in my head,

That keeps me restless and wants me dead,

I’ve learned my lesson this time round,

I’ll know my limit and hold my ground;

I can quit and resist the beer,

In every bar I’ll steer well clear,

I won’t forget the stormy seas

On which I sailed on hands and knees,

I won’t forget my day in bed,

So next time, I’ll drink wine instead.
