A poem about moving on in love but the other person refusing to let go.

A golden time remembered
When sudden thoughts occur
A life of love so long ago
The mind begins to blur

The love would last forever
Yet fate got in the way
Severed the line between two hearts
That dark and rainy day

Two years on I’m wondering
Why do you still cry?
Clinging on to shattered dreams
When you should let them die

The past cannot be altered
The future is not here
Yet you are in the present
Attached by lonely fear

My heart healed and moved on
The crack was fixed so fine
Yet fractured splinters happen
When you say you’re mine

For love has a new beginning
What’s done is gone you see
I know it’s hard to hear this
But now you must be free
