isn't it interesting how one set of words on a screen can affect someone so much?
Maybe it's because it's from someone you love.
Maybe it's because they knew what they'd say would hurt you, and they sent the message anyways.

That Text Message stuck with me.

It stuck with me through the cold milk in my morning cereal.

It stuck with me through every step on my walk to school.

Not once did it leave my mind while calculating numbers

or formulating words into essays.

It was heavy.

so heavy, that even though I ate

the heaviest thing in my bodywasn't my belly

but that message inside my mind.

With every Do Re Mi,

with every split, leap and point of my toe

it stuck with me,

thrashing its way within the walls of my skull.

It did.

It stayed.

There was no getting rid of it.

I passed you in the hall.

I  looked at you

but you kept going,

passed me like a ghost on a street labled "Your Past Dr."

With the lack of acknowledgment

went the burden of that text message

and with that burden came a new one.

The loud

painful breaking

of my heart.
