Two Sides

There is a plague in the air of snide,

But also a breeze of courageous pride.

There is a smell of roses so delicate and sweet,

But they have sharp thorns you've yet to meet.

There is a taste of a soft yet crisp, ripe fruit,

But there is a lethal poison growing in the root.

There is a sight so beautiful and calm,

But elsewhere the scene is ugly and full of harm.

There is a soft, silky and sensual touch so nice,

But a deadly turn if your roll the cursed dice.

There is a loud yet soft, mellow, tuneful din,

But behind it is an awful silent sin.

There is always two sides to every story,

One of sadness and one of glory.

One of happiness so great,

And one of sadness and hate.

One of kindness and a sweet smile,

One of selfishness, bitterness and vile.

Just bear in mind, when it's the time,

That if you're having a bad rhyme,

There's always another time when it will go your way,

And then you can forget that you went astray.
