I put my trust in you, dear friend of mine,

But you left me out in the cold alone.

I fought against the frozen beats of time

And tried to find the warmth all on my own.

You had your fires to help you out there,

I had but the smoke that the chimney pours.

No roaring flame could help me better fare,

And I had no flame. It was all yours.

And now the wind starts to hail down on me,

A never-ending tumult of delight.

Enjoy your flames, for they beget debris

I let the wind escort me through the night.

And once the sun blesses the earth with glow,

I will be the first to hear his hello.
