I once had a dear old mother,

That was kind to me.

and when i was in trouble,

She sat me on her knee.

One night when i was sleeping

Upon my feathered bed.

An angel came from heaven,

And told me she was dead.

I woke up in the morning,

To see if it was true.

Oh yes shes gone to heaven,

In the sky so blue.

So listen all you children

And do as you are told

Cause when you have lost your mother,

You've lost your heart and soul.
