There is a moment in life, when the night sky is dark, the moon high,
That calls forth silence, that kills even wind, to a deafening halt,
Like knife to the throat, doth silence bring, make us dry,
Ever thirsty for that sound, the sound of nature’s power, caught,
But the silence still does grip, attacking us within, with an ear piercing scream,
No mercy is given, no flow of river, no loving clatter of shoes to hard floor,
It takes away hope, takes us from once peace, to worship of dream,
From only there shall we escape, the ever lingering silence, which sits by our door.
