Two lonely souls may wander far
And lose themselves within the dark,
But cast down through the thick of shade
A trace of love will light their way.

For beneath a draping willow tree
That cries for those who cannot see
A flower sprouts to catch the sun
And turn those tears to ones of love.

Its passion red and brightened tone
Bear sign for those in search of home
And fragrance passed through warming air
Calls lovers near to seek a pair.

And through the passing nights they walk,
Feeling thoughts they cannot talk.
By stars that rest in empty skies,
They journey on to nature’s guide.

But far too soon, their flower wilts,
Another patch on lovers’ quilt.
It leaves behind their memories
To serve as seed for better dreams.

And though they long for what they’ve lost,
The two will learn to turn it off
And feel as they once felt before
Their flower grew at lovers’ door.
