I’ve always loved the ocean. The scent of salt and water. Spray stinging your eyes. When the wind kicks up, the sand shifts around. At night, it’s so quiet. You hear the waves lapping the shore and the moon and stars glinting off the water.

You can close your eyes and not think of anything. The sea invades your senses, makes you calm. The ocean doesn’t judge you. The ocean doesn’t end. It’s deep and full of secrets. It’s a friend who is always there, a friend who has their secrets.

But you don’t need their secrets to feel close.

You don’t need to know everything about them.

You just need to be there.

Just be there.
