I gave you my heart and you threw it away,

But he wanted it from the start.

I treated you like God, you treated me like dirt,

But he always treated me like an angel.

I called you, you didn't answer,

But he came running.

I needed you and you ignored me,

But he was always there.

I gave you forever, you gave me a day,

But he gave me forever, and a day.

I loved you, you liked me,

But he loved like I was a divine creation.

I was hurt, you didn't stitch me up,

But he used a golden needle and silver thread.

I cried, you didn't hold me,

But he never let go.

I was bleeding, you left me for dead,

But he would sell his soul for me.

I fell down and you didn't pick me up,

But he has carried me the whole way.

And even though I have not realised it until now,

He has loved me since the day we first met.

And the day I knew I loved him back,

It was the happiest day of both our lives.

And when it came time for me to fall, who's arms did I fall into?

And you wonder Why.
