second of three in logs of old poetry - i dont' think i posted this.

---- old desc:
Before I post this, I’d like to take a second to tell you why I wrote this. I would really call this a rant over a poem. It has no qualities of poetry. This poem is based off an essay I wrote, but I never got around to showing. It was about how racist and bigot-supporting people were. My problem with it, was that this is the internet where they, and they’re targets are pixels. I don’t mean to sound like a hippy, but shit. We should all be equal here. We’re pixels. Whether you’re heavy, light, tan, white, we’re pixels here. We can relate here. Don’t let such stupid things drive your path. Thank you, and enjoy my bad poetry. :c

"I have a dream," said Martin Luther King Junior.
I have a dream too, so let me tell it to you.
We live in the time of expansive technology,
Without the internet, we’d be hopeless. It’s true.
However, even on the internet we hate one another for a lot.

We hate each other for skin,
we hate each other for sexual orientation,
we hate each other for belief,
we hate each other for spelling,
we hate each other for origin.

What do I not get? No, what do we not get.
As a people who are meant to rely on one another,
you can’t even leave a comment without a threat.
Since when did we limit color to who you call a brother?
Or a sister. On the internet at least…
I thought we would truly be able to get along.

Do you know why this troubles me so?
Because we are all PIXELS here.
Black doesn’t matter,
white doesn’t matter,
yellow doesn’t matter,
red doesn’t matter.
We’re pixels. Our text, our words, our emotions.
It’s all text on the screen, it’s all pixels.
So why are we letting the colors behind them start a commotion.

If I recall correctly, like me you use “Arial” and “Times New Roman”
If I recall correctly, like me you use 12-point fonts.
And no, it’s not limited to those, but we all use it.
So stop getting aggressive to another pixel, it’s wrong.
Cause no matter how you poke or pull a pixel will never rip.
Why can’t be like it?

Age, race, sex, gay, lesbian, bi, straight, skinny, fat, it doesn’t matter.
Here, we’re just pixels. Get along.
