Bloodshed and carnage

Pain and suffering

Courage and sacrifice

Fear that a loved one will die

And wont come home

This is what comes to mind

When I think of war

Lost causes and mindless violence

Anger and rage costing people their lives

All for satisfaction of a person, and the deaths of thousands

This is what comes to mind

When I think of war

"History written by the victor, remembering the battle

Forgetting the blood"

Memories haunting with the screams of comrades

Sickness, cruelty, and orders you must follow

This is what I see

As the face of war

Glamour and honour are what others see

They see nobility in fighting for a country

As the face of war

They do not see the terrible truth

There is no honour in slaughter

No honour in lies

No honour in the face of war
