Long walk home

As I close my eyes I remember the long walks home,

Always knowing where I am but never forgetting where I've gone,

A long walk sometimes on the bumpiest of roads,

Sometimes I pack light, but most of the time I pack heavier loads,

Its often easy to get lost along the way,

A long walk down dusty roads, I see the passing of another day,

I often drop my head to only see the many trails I have made,

Looking at my past footsteps as the sun shines through the shade,

Never realizing that I' ve made this walk plenty times before,

But always saying to myself, "this is the last time Im not doing this anymore",

My footsteps started off small but they got bigger as I became grown,

But, I always remind myself of them long walks home.
