The Angel That Lie Sleeping

If I could only clothe you in my sanctity of warm velvet... Cradle you in the indigo of the night until the iridescence of chartreuse wakes the remnants of your crimson tears So when every time you wipe warfare from your face... You can see me smiling at you... Admiring the angelic peachiness of your skin, the austere rosiness of your cheeks Adore that look in your eyes when you hear me speak... Wipe your tears with the warmth of sunlight until they begin to cease And if the power were in my hands, I would take your demons and soak them in chamomile until you finally had some peace Allow intimacy's endless attention to grip your body with such freedom you finally breathe... But I am only here to hold your hands through the mountains you feel you can't move This bed is more than just a mount for our weight when I lie next to you My voice before your bedtime, my hand in yours As you sleep... The only thing I can think is how you allowed the world to make you feel so un-adorned?
