writers block

I'm downhearted

I can't get started.

I keep hoping I might

be able to write,

but words evade me

and this has made me

most subdued.

I'm in a blue mood.

I think I'm in danger

of becoming a stranger.

Dee, try not to let writer's block get you down (easy for me to say!). We won't forget you!

Thanks for commenting Mike.
I'm hoping to ease myself back into writing by making myself write something/anything.
I don't know if it will work. Fingers crossed for now.
I hope you are well.
Dee.

You're writing words now and they are filled with truth, a truth many of us on here can relate to. Sometimes, writing about what you're feeling is a great warm up to generating some great work. I'm sure you've probably started writing something great by now!
A story or a poem doesn't always come to us when we want it to and it doesn't always stay with us until we're finished. Sometimes, we need to coax it out with warm up exercises, such as this poem you've written, and other times we just need to step back, take a breather, move on to something else and allow ideas to naturally form in our mind before going back to the page or monitor. Patience is key. Stressing out only builds a thicker wall of writer's block.
Good luck, Dee! You will come up with something eventually and it will be wonderful!
