When I was a girl

my head was in a whirl.

Which dress should i wear?

How should I style my hair?

Should my nails be red ,or pink?

What did my friends think?

I wasn't ready

To go steady.

Boys would abound

And follow me around.

They would ask me out

But I never had a doubt.

I always said,no

I didn't want a beau.

I just wasn't ready

To go steady.

I treated boys mean

But it made them more keen.

I was most amused

To see them confused.

I was the Ice Queen

Always pristine.

I really wasn't ready

To go steady.

Then along came a boy

Whose smile filled me with joy.

When he looked my way

It lit up my day.

The Ice Queen was gone

Because this was the one.

I was finally ready

To go steady.
