Departure

I’ve heard of your departure
Long before you told me
I knew that there’ll be one day
When you would have to leave me

I’ve heard of your departure
So I rushed down to the railway
But then I was too late
To bid farewell or kiss you

I’ve heard of your departure
But why must it be today?
Why can’t we be together?
Life is so unfair

I’ve heard of your departure
Long before you told me
As quick as they came
Those happy moments were gone.
