Dehydrating in the middle of a desert

Miles of rough terrain keeping me captive

Direct sunrays torturing my olive tone skin

Degrees Fahrenheit rising past three digits

Skin boiling, burning red with blisters

My dried, chappend lips cracking open

The rustic taste of blood conquering my tongue

Breath suffocating breath

Each inhale grinding down the walls of my throat

As if swallowing a piece of sandpaper

Eyelids no longer separate

I don't want to see the bird flying above

Zeroing in on my body like my seconds of life

Limbs stiffening, immobilized

My heart weakening, life ending

No feeling of the bird's beak tering into his supper
