On an old rickety sailing vessel

I am alone

Adrift at sea

The gulls and me

The wind, and my thoughts

I am alone

And I don't mind

If I even have a mind

Is there a god beyond those swells

Beyond the stratosphere

Is there a thing

Do I even care

Before I slipped in

After I slip out

I will ride this out

On a creaking ship

The sound of gulls

Salt and sun

I am alone

And it's just fine
