Falling in love is hard. Especially when your heart gets broke severly in the process.

HIS LITTLE DUMMY

I fervently longed to make it work.
I fell in love with him.
Someone I thought I knew
Ended up becoming
Someone I hardly recognized.
A subtle stranger.

Patiently I waited for his love.
It never came at all.
He played me like his dummy;
Filling my mouth up
With his useless, tired words.
The perfect ventriloquist.

Some said it wasn’t meant to be
What did they know?
Outsiders with no clue
How we felt for each other.
They were right all along.
Those clairvoyant meddlers.

Now I sit and think at night
About what went wrong.
Ticking like a bomb,
Counting down the seconds
Of our false friendship.
Secluded ignorance.
