Her glass slipper,
fragile and beautiful,
was left at the scene.
A single red rose
tucked under the heel.
She’d vanished.
Snatched up by the arms of fate
longing to take her away.
Twelve was long gone now;
minutes dancing with light on the horizon.
Precious princess now far beyond
any normal, painful existence.
Carried to safety,
to perfection.
By her "fairy god-savior."
Her prince Charming.
