As I wait for a time called tomorrow

As I sit here on my bed and wait,
As I sit here and write and contemplate
I think of a time that I’ve yet to experience,
Not fathering a child, nor my wedding day
But simply a time not so far away
Not a week ahead or what ill do next year
But simply a time that I most fear

How a time can be so close, yet so afar
Only a sunrise and a sunset away
Yet nothing decided, no set way
Or perhaps this is incorrect,
To believe that path has not been laid yet
To believe that my future is undecided
That the choice is mine to become un-parted

See this time has a name,
It is called tomorrow, a time so close,
Yet is it time borrowed
Is it time that is not mine, simply lent to me
To help me to understand unwind
Unwind the day, the experiences past,
And learn they need not go so fast

So need I worry of time misunderstood?
A time I could, embrace with power
Or simply relax and let shower,
Let shower over me,
Learn not to take life with such velocity
Learn to take each day at a time,
Allow the future to shine bright in my eyes

So as I sit here on my bed and wait,
So as I sit here and write and contemplate
Knowing that the unknown, tomorrow, is part of that
And there is nothing I can do, its science, a fact
It is a time that should be embraced, experienced and loved
Not forgotten, shied away from, or lost
But remembered, enjoyed, and most of all
Taken as free, at no cost.
