I stand corrected

By the punishment I've been living

If time stood still

I'd be stuck in a moment of trashiness

I wouldn't like to be collecting lifelessness

But how am I going to avoid the death

When it takes over my world?

I'm free to wake up

And face a day without grace

But when I drown

I know I'll die in that lake

And whatever way I grow to live

In whatever "someway" that can come to pass

I'll heed the warning

That the heat is on it's way

Burning sorrow in the midnight sky

All of my options have been lost

All of my intentions have been derailed

I can't be seen in the distance

But I'll take on another form just to please you

Knowing what I already am

Would never be enough for you

If you see my heart

Watch it blow up before your eyes

Leave behind the makeup of my face

And see my scorched soul

That you torched so long ago

There is no other attitude I could give you

Other than a look of despair

Broken apart feelings of lost control

Where the dim light of hope

Refuses to shine
