What do I say to you
in the dark of this room
in the still, in the covers
our heartbeats in tune

What could I whisper
to be understood more
our shoes by the bedpost
our clothes on the floor

What can I tell you
my heart on my sleeve
your face in my hands now
just watching you breathe

What do I do now
I can't go to sleep
the soft of your body
the curve of your cheek

You're sun through my window
You're fresh fallen snow
You're all of my strength
You're my weakness, my woe

I wish I could keep you
and stay in this bliss
But our love is this moment
in this goodbye kiss
