This is a secret love poem for someone special to me. She deserves more words then I could write in a lifetime.

I think you hide
in the cracks in my skin
unable to be seen
with the naked eye
but there
none the less

like atoms and energy
like wind
like cockroaches in the city
like the thickness of air
in the room when we fight
like tension

I think you hide
in the spaces between my teeth
unable to be brushed away
next to the gums
you will not be denied
how could I

like the smell of the rain coming
like the crack of thunder
like the blinding flash of lightning
like your hand in the hair
on my chest when you're scared
like autumn

I think you hide
in the viens in my arms
unable to stop yourself
coursing through the
tips of my fingers
even as I type these words

I can feel you inside me
