Trump claims US ship shot down an Iranian drone.

No credible evidence from White House (Trump lies)of an Iranian drone being shot down.

The Pentagon issued the following statement:

"At approximately 10 a.m. local time, the amphibious ship USS Boxer was in international waters conducting a planned inbound transit of the Strait of Hormuz. A fixed wing unmanned aerial system (UAS) approached Boxer and closed within a threatening range. The ship took defensive action against the UAS to ensure the safety of the ship and its crew."

In June Iran shot down an US drone.

The commander of the drone unit in the army of the Iranian army, Brig. General Hasannejad said that the delivery of the Mohajer-6 combat drones represents a new phase for a wide use of drones in the operations of the forces army. "With the deployment of these unmanned aerial vehicles, any threat to Iranian borders and even beyond borders will be identified, traced and removed before it can even take shape," said General Hasannejad.

In February 2018 Israel downed an Iranian drone that crossed into Israeli airspace. The Iranian drone was a copy of an American drone (US RQ-170 Sentinel spy drone) that Iran got ahold of several years earlier (Saeqeh or “Thunderbolt”)
