I wrote this poem after I watched someone I cared about lose the person they've been with for 2 years. I've been seeing them off and on since we were both 14 so seeing them so upset over the lose of someone else hurt quite a bit. To get it out in writing helped alot. Let me know what you think.

The words burn
like tears on my tongue
the salt of loves pain
burnt into someone so young
this pain that festers
yearns to be set free
years lost to the fire
silent arms let them be
stones weight heavily
on delicate shoulders
our world secured solely
by uneven borders
yours is my story
as only it can be
the scars the remain
are no easy feat
only defeated
by loves steady beat
but not even love
may set you free
