Constantly we are told how to look
what's hot, what's in. how to dress. what's considered beautiful and you have people that actually think its right
and try to fix the unbroken. it's sad how society can implement ideas in your head...

Fixing the defects
My hair! I have to straighten it
It’s so nappy
I need for it to be down my shoulders
So I gotta buy me some weave
My brown eyes are so dull
There’s a corner store to buy me some contacts
My nose? It’s just too wide
I need it straight
I’ll just take a loan and go fix all these defects
My lips? Hell, a little nip and tuck it’ll be perfect
My breast are too small, too big, too low, too high, to wide
My stomach ain’t it a little flabby?
I need it to be flat, toned, like a model!
Hips? Oh they are just too thick!
I tell you
My legs are so skinny!
I am just too tall, too short, just not right
All these stretch marks!!!
I can never go to the pool looking like this
I need to fix it
Like technical glitches
Imperfections
And defects
All these flaws
Deficiencies
Fix it
Fix, fix, fix
I am just not right
I want to look like the stars, models and video girls
I want, want, want
Not happy
Need to fix the errors
Like an eraser on a pencil smudge
Have to get rid of it
Until there is no more mistakes
Until there is no more
I want to be perfect
I want
I need
Fix, fix, fix
Like the girls on TV, magazines
I am just trying to be
What you want me to be
Like glitter and gold
Shinning bright
High on the pedestal
Fix, fix, fix
Nip and tuck
Cut a little here
A little there
Take some off
Add some on
Like plastic I will be
Finally
I will be
Perfect…
