I wrote this because many people have friends that at one point in their where they take a turn for the worst. And we always think they'll change and be just like they used to be, however, that is a rare case in the world today. People get caught up in things they regret and they can't get out of it. Unfortunately, the people are sometimes our friends.

I called you beautiful,
I called you great.
You gave heartbreak in a handfull,
You gave me spite and hate.

I brought you life,
I gave you hope.
You brought a knife,
and a bag of dope.

I thought you'd changed,
came back home to me.
But you'd become deranged,
and lost the key.

I must tell you at last,
if you can hear me still.
You made me an outcast,
and left a hole I cannot fill.

Wow...your choice of words is really powerful! It's a sad, yet inspiring poem. Good job :)
